Zoey was fearless. Zoey had a soul-she had to ! No dog can be like her and not have a soul.

Nickname: Zoom Zoom

Zoey was here for a short time, she enchanted anyone she met. Smart, sweet and funny. She was a tease and zoomed everywhere she went. She had just discovered the river, scared at first, but when i waded to an island, she whined then fearlessly dove in to get to me. Always by my side, I will miss her until I join her.
Nugless (her brother) misses her, whines, sniffs her things, and looks for her in all of her favorite spots. I have never had a human friend that was on the same level as Zoey. She stuck by me, always needed me, wanted to go with me, I will never get over Zoey-ever. She looked at me with such attentiveness, it's hard to believe she's gone. She died violently and should never had to have went that way, she was much to special to suffer so........My heart is broken. Zoey, I miss you and I will always love you!! My little diva/tom boy!! Mommy misses you Zoom Zoom!

We had our first real snow,missing Zoey more than maybe I should. I dream of her I can almost feel her in bed in the mornings and then I wake fully and real she is not here. She would've loved that fluffy snow falling................
for those of you who are curious as to how my precious Zoey died, I will tell you. As i type this tears come easily. Zoey went EVERYWHERE with me-everywhere, even to shop at Walmart hidden in my purse. It was being with me that was her desire. I had been up late working on my computer. Typing reports and I had my sons dog(Zoey's brother, Nug) with me to entertain Zoey while I work. They LOVED each other very much. It was late and I had to run Nug home(1/4 away), so I went to leave and Zoey came to the door wagging turned around and went to the couch, jumped up and looked at me. Odd behavior in hind sight, but I said,"What's wrong zoom zoom, you don't love mommy"? I was teasing her, she turned to my boyfriend and gave him a snuggle and lick and ran to me. I was going to leave her but she made it to me before I could get out of the door. So along came Zoey. I drove the short distance to my sons house and with Zoey and Nug in the back window of my small car I opened the door to get out. I always let them out the back after I got out. Zoey was good about being patient but always got so excited when we went to visit at Nugs house but with him in the car I thought she would stay put. I got out of the car and my phone rang, I put it to my ear and shut the door. I heard a little yelp and snatched the door open thinking I had shut someones foot in the door or something. Zoey was writhing in the floorboard and "paddling" her feet. I snatched her up and ran to my sons to check her out. On the way she began to shake and blood spewed from her mouth. It was one of the worst things that I've ever witnessed in my life. Me and my son rushed to the vet at 11:30 to try and save my precious Zoey. She hung on for an hour but the trauma was too much for such a small body. It's strange that even now it is so overwhelming to have lost that little lady and to have lost her like that is even worse. I had tremendous guilt(still do) but I like to think she's with me still. I have a memorial with her remains in my flower garden piled high with rocks she and I collected at the river a few days before she died. Right now I have beautiful tulips and daffodils coming up all around her! She would've loved them!
