Cooper was an adorable little guy, extremely devoted to his loved ones.

Nickname: Coops; Mr. Cooper

Some time had passed since I lost my very special, precious dog, so I decided to adopt again. My friend came along with me to help. After looking for a while, I realized I wasn't quite ready yet, so decided maybe I should wait a bit. While we were walking around one of the shelters visiting the dogs that were up for adoption, my friend (who by the way was not looking to adopt a dog)- came upon this adorable little dog that he thought was a puppy and looked like a fox. He was all alone in a crate and as my friend approached him, he came over to say hello. We asked "what's the story with this puppy?"- the caretaker at the shelter said "that's no puppy, he's approximately 8 yrs old!"...for some reason, my friend decided he had to adopt him, he just fell in love with the little guy right on the spot. I was surprised because he wasn't even planning on taking a dog home that day! So we ended up placing him in the back-seat of his car to take him home. For some reason, I was a bit skeptical about this dog, he didn't seem very friendly & he was kinda stinky! - While we were driving, (me in the passenger seat)- I was wondering to myself how this could have happened. John was not planning on bringing a dog home...did he do the right thing? Would the dog ever warm up to us? As I was lost in my thoughts, all of a sudden Cooper jumped up into my lap from the back-seat & laid on my lap and just looked out the car window and yes at that moment, I fell in love! A few days later, we took him for a grooming -so no more stinky dog! John took him home and he lived in a house where there were other dogs, and so his new life began! John loved him and took such wonderful care of him - I have never seen a dog more attached or loyal to his parent, like Cooper was to John. They became the best of friends. Sadly, a couple of years later Cooper became very sick. At that point, the vet told John, Cooper was probably older than what they originally said at the shelter. He became too sick to continue his life here on earth, but I can tell you that the years he was with John, although we wish they could have been longer, were the best years of his life. He was loved by all of us, and treated like a little prince. We miss you Mr. Cooper, you were always be with us, we hope you are now at peace.
