Stewart... The best dog in the whole world! We miss you every day and love you very much!

When I went to pick out our "so called" hunting dog, there was only one puppy left who happened to be the runt, or so they said. Stewart, named for our racing background, was the sweet, all black German shorthair, hiding behind a curtain. It didn't take long to realize that Stewart was going to be our best friend, an addition to our household that we didn't know, was so desperately needed. He was family. Stewart was always by my side, in all of the good times and bad. As they say, everyone should greet you like a dog does, and Stewart did that and more. He was by my side every night and brought me so much happiness.
I looked forward to pulling in the driveway nightly and hearing his "bark of joy,"... the moment we both waited for, all day. He appreciated just being with us, with his unconditional love. He loved his toys, especially his ducks! and loved playing with any stick in the yard. He also loved going to races, so that he could be near his family. He took care of every one of us.
We never even knew Stewart was sick. His desire to stay strong for us was amazing. He had a fun 2016 Christmas with us and loved opening his gift! I can not say enough about our Stewart, he will be forever in our hearts. Another saying goes, " A house is not a home without a dog." That saying is so true because our home is so quiet now and we expect to see him around every corner. Even tho he's at peace, he's in our hearts and the memory of Stewart, will live forever.
