Sabel My Best Friend... A part of my Heart and Soul is now missing with your passing

Sabel was a rescue case. She came into this world with not much of a chance but she beat death on two occasions.
Sabel & her sister as puppies, were both abused and tied to a tree in the neighbors front yard. It was 100 plus degrees and they had no water and the chains they were on were wrapped so tight they could barely move.
One day we found her sister had died and Sabel was looking very ill.
A wonderful man and good friend John, rescued her and he and another friend Gary drove all around until they found a Vet open to help her.
The prognosis was not good to say the least. She had fleas, malnourishment and the worse case of worms the Vet had ever seen.
We were told she probably would not live through the night.
We put her on a blanket and fed her raw hamburger when she would eat.
We were awakened the next morning by the patter of little feet and found Sabel eagerly exploring and greeting all of us! as was her beautiful nature.
Sabel had a drive for life and always wanted to meet and greet everyone.
Several years later when she was around 9 years old she fell ill and had kidney and liver issues. The Vets and Specialists could not figure out what was wrong. Again her prognosis was not good at all. We doctored her at home administering fluid IV's and homeopathics. But then...once again, she miraculously just got up one day and came in the kitchen wanting a treat !
Even through this illness she always found the strength to wag her tail and greet all the Doctors and staff and anyone she encountered...even though she obviously felt lousy.

She remained healthy and full of life for several years more up until recently. She started having kidney and liver issues again but this time her kidneys, already being compromised, just gave out.
She spent the night at the clinic on IV's to see if they could get her up and going and her kidneys working. The next day the Vet wanted me to take her home to see how she did through the day. I asked God to let me get her home if anything was to happen and not die at the clinic and he answered my prayers. I got her home and put her on her blanket in her favorite spot in the sun room.
I told her how much I loved her and how special she was. She looked up at me in that reassuring way and then took her last breath as I held her.

She was with me for fourteen years through all the good and bad times in my life.
No one could truly understand the kind of relationship and bond we had between us unless they have experienced such a blessing by having animal companions.
I know some day we will meet again in a better place and cross the "Rainbow Bridge" together.
I will always hold her dearly in my heart.
