Bosco was an amazing dog. He could sense your feelings as if they were his own, his appearance was bold, strong, and intimidating however a child could tug on his ear a hundred times and he wouldn't growl once...a dog could approach him growling and barking and he would just wag his tail, he was innocent and sweet, very affectionate. Everyone has always teased me about how narotic and protective I was of him, but he was my best friend and the thought of losing him or him not being taken care of freaked me out. I took him everywhere...to friend's houses, family parties, to work in Seattle, to run errands with me, the drive-in theater, road trips. He was my sidekick.

Our last night together I had made him a new york steak and I made a bed on the living room floor and curled up with him (he always LOVED to cuddle and would always inch his way closer and closer to you cause it was as if he felt like he could never get close enough) anyway I couldn't stop sobbing, i was really upset about the situation, I was dreading the next morning, and I felt like I had failed him some way or somehow. And as weak as Bosco was, to the point of barely being able to lift his head or paws, and not being able to walk, he still kept putting his arm over my shoulder as if to hug me and then licked my tears away giving me kisses trying to make me feel better and calm me down. He always stuck to me like glue when he knew I was upset. I will never stop missing Bosco. As i've always joked, he was the "man in my life".

HOW WE MET-
I was 18 years old and went to my boyfriend at the times mother's house to play with his dog at the river. We were standing at the river watching his dog swim when I turned around and noticed this goofy Bullmastiff jumping behind me flailing his stubby body around trying to get me to play with him...he circled me and all I could do was laugh. We started walking back to my boyfriend's mom's house and everytime I looked back Bosco was trolling closely behind. I found out that someone had dumped him off in the neighborhood since she lived next to an animal shelter and many did that because they didn't want to pay the fees. He was so intimidating that no one would take him in so the neighborhood had been taking turns feeding him for a month. Not for long though because I packed him up in the car and took him home. I was amazed to find he was such a well behaved dog.

DID SOMETIMES GET INTO MISCHIEF-
We use to say that Bosco was a magician...he didn't look smart but he was! He would always find ways to escape the house whether jumping over the 6ft. tall fences or nudging the windows open and jumping out. Which was miraculous to me cause he was the LAZIEST creature I had ever seen so I couldn't believe he was putting this much effort in so that he could go on his journeys! lol At this time I was working as an Accountant back in Seattle and was always running out of the office because of calls from the police dog rescue saying that they found Bosco and all they had to do was open the door to their vehicle and he would jump in all excited...but they would just hold him at the police station for me cause they loved having him hang out there lol. One of the first times he had escaped was a little more scarey though. They had brought him to the pound and called me from there. I left work to go pick him up and when I got there they looked confused. They said they scanned a chip inside of him and called the owner and he was on the way to get him. I had already had Bosco for over 2 years now and we were inseparable. I went ballistic...I thought I was going to lose him. Luckily when they called the jerk back that had abandoned him originally he said he didn't actually want Bosco he just thought he had to come pick him up. I didn't lose my baby. :)

The only time I saw Bosco have to be agressive is when one night back in seattle I had let him and my brother's 3lb. mini Doberman Pinscher toy size outside to go potty for bed. Penny was like a sister to Bosco...she would sleep on top of Bosco's back and always paw at his nose and nibble on his big wrinkly muzzle and ears lol. Drove him nuts but he loved her anyway! So anyway I flicked on the porch light and opened the door and they flew out. Next thing I know I hear Penny let out this screech! Two huge raccoons were in the corner attacking Penny. Bosco lunged at them and literally flung them over the fence with his mouth. He was so scared and felt so guilty for hurting the raccoons he just ran in the house and laid in the corner with a petrified and mortified look on his face. He was just such a gentle animal it was hard for him to do that. Luckily him and Penny walked away with just a few scratches.

WHY BOSCO STOOD OUT-
Bosco weighed about 90lbs. but thought he was a lapdog...he would sneak while you were sitting on the couch, put one front paw on your lap, then the other, then you saw a leg slowly creep up, until he's softly flop his body onto yours. Especially to his 4'11" auntie Cara LOL. One time my ex and I were on a 6 hour road trip and Bosco kept trying to come up to the front seat to be close to me so finally I let him crawl onto my lap,..he layed on his back right on my lap, all 90lbs. of him for the entire 6 hour trip. Lol He was so cute I couldn't say no!

He loved the dog beach back in Seattle, we went all the time, however he hated being in the water, he was scared of it. So much if it was raining you better plan to physically drag him outside to get him to go potty! lol He would round his mouth out and let out the cutest most ridiculous howl everytime you got home...it didn't matter if you were gone 10 minutes or 5 hours he was excited just the same and wanted to talk to you and tell you all about it lol He loved wearing glasses and hats and watching t.v. And if he didn't like the guy I was dating he made it quite clear by peeing in their shoes! LOL Was the wierdest thing! Haha He loved visiting Gramma Sue, he was spoiled like no other, she took him thru the drive thrus for treats, Grampa Dave would throw him Ritz crackers like a frisbi to him which were his favorite and cuddle on the couch with him, and he loved waking Gramma Sissy & Papa Todd up by laying his head on top of the bead and talking doggy talk to them.

THE GOODBYE-
Bosco had what the some freak form of cancer is what the vets concluded. They think they just weren't able to detect it with their testing. He literally was crippled over the last two days of his life, almost like a limp noodle. Luckily he was not in any pain at all, just very weak and his nerves weren't working correctly. He was happy the entire time though..wagging his tail so hard I thought it butt was going to fly off lol. He gave it all he had and so did I and Gramma Sissy and Papa Todd...but we couldn't control mother nature unfortunately. :(

Bosco LOVED his Uncle Woo, Daddy Nate, his Grampa Dave, Gramma Sissy, Papa Todd, , Gramma Sue n Allan, Uncle Joe Joe, Uncle Scottie-Duke, Neighbors Tina & Ric the kids, his girlfriend Krissy, and all his family and buddies. Bosco always had a fan club wherever he went, he was such a loveable dog.

My heart will always ache for you and I will always miss you. I'll never be able to replace you. Goodbye to the man of my life, my best friend, my sidekick, my baby boy. <3 <3 <3
