Nickname: Peppers

My Pepper had the most radiant personality for his age. He knew when someone was sad and he would want to make sure you were alright. Pepper slept with me under the covers at my legs ever since he got too big to sleep on my neck. He was a Mommy's Boy and I spoiled him. He was an emotional pup. You could tell when he was his happiest and when he was sad.
Sgt. Pepper was my baby, my son, and my friend.
Yesturday I was going to take Pepper to my mother-in-law's house to go play and he waited for my ok to go out the door. I said, "Go on baby." he ran out and I grabbed the leash. He ran up the sidewalk so I called him while opening the passanger side door. He was so excited he ran around the front. I called for him then heard him whine so I told my friend, "He's on my side of the car just to make sure Mommy's going too." I walked around the car and there he was laying there. It happened so fast I didn't hear anything and I was only 5ft away. He died a min later and I went nuts. I held him and rocked him in and outside of the house. I held him so long that I didn't realize rigor mortis set in. My husband made a casket and he almost didn't fit. I put both collars, his bisquits, pillow, covered him with a blanket, and put his sweater on him plus put two other sweaters of his in the casing.
I haven't been able to bring myself to go to my bedroom without him. I miss my baby soo much.

I recently was asked my a family member, "You need to tell me what you want for your birthday and for Christmas." I told her that when I knew, I'd let her know. It came one day talking to a friend to get a tomb stone for Pepper's grave. I got one priced. The sales lady asked me if I wanted her to put a dacshund picture on it after I told her I had a picture I want put on. "Heck NO. That wouldn't be MY SON." I got the price. I called the family member and she said, "well I'm sorry, but I am not spending over $50 for A DOG." I immediately snapped back, "Pepper was not my dog. He was my son." She apologized but I am still saving to be able to put a stone on his grave behind the house.

Most people don't understand. They'd never toss their child in the ground and walk away, this was my child and I will not abandon him or give him less than what I'd give for my own girls.
