I'm sorry that the lady you lived with for years and years took you to the animal shelter because she didn't want you anymore. But, I am glad that you came home with me and let me love you. I only had you 9 months, but I loved you very much. I'm sorry that you were so fragile medically and we tried to do all that we could for you. How you were so sweet and loving with all that was wrong with you, I'll never know.

Part of me died with you the day you died in my arms on the kitchen floor. I know that your final gesture, seconds before you died, when you put your head in my lap and licked my hand, was your way of saying, "thank you for the love and wonderful home, but I just can't stay anymore".

Run free, beautiful girl. You no longer have to deal with arthritis, "doggie Krohn's disease" as the vet called it, and a weak heart. I know you are someplace where you can eat all the treats you want, and never upset your tummy! Say "hey" to Graham for me, and I'll see you when I get there.

P.S. Benny was so upset, we got another doggie friend for him. In your honor, and for all the doggies that nobody wants, we adopted a 5 year old black giant named Gunny. Just as we said with you, Tina, if we didn't take him, nobody would.
