Arrived 10/3/08 to give me love ~ on 6/10/10 went with God above.

Nickname: Sweetheart

SnowBall's elderly master had to go to a nursing home so the lady asked her daughter to find a good home for him. His master had him for five years after adopting him from the SPCA when he was estimated to be three years old or a bit more. The circumstances of his first three years of life remain unknown to this day.

I had lost my wife and our dog just six months earlier and was looking for a companion to ease my grief. SnowBall came to live with me on Oct. 3, 2008 and we found instant love for each other. He was the most friendly and outgoing dog that I have ever known of; never barked, perfectly house broken, and had a tremendous enthusiasm for life, all people, and all animals. He stayed with me constantly and spent much of our time together sitting on my lap, gazing up into my eyes, and favoring me with his love.

No one knew of his diabetes until it became so severe that he was blinded, stopped eating, and vomited anything that he did get down. Of course, I rushed him to the veterinarian but his advice was to euthanize my SnowBall -- he told me that his life would never be good again, and that it would be terribly expensive and difficult for me, otherwise.

So, on June 10, 2010, as I held him and talked to him he was given the shot to stop his heart muscle. At about ten years of age, he was gone to be with his eternal master if there is one for a dog. The anticipated life together of six or eight years for us was cut short to just one year and eight months.

I miss him so much. I love him so much. His ashes are at home with me where they rest upon his bed to this day. Good-bye my friend, my love !
