How do I sum up in words what you have meant to me? How do I say thank you for never leaving my side? How do I describe my gratitude for always listening to me? How do I pay my greatest respect to you for being the only one who never judged me? How can I show you how happy you made me feel every single day since the first day I met you?

I truly felt alone in this world until you came into my life. I remember always wanting a dog when I was a child. Ironically, you didn’t enter my life until I was an adult but you made my childhood dream come true a thousand times over. I remember the day I went to choose a puppy and you were stumbling around with all of your brothers and sisters. I didn’t know who to choose.....so you chose me that day...... and for that I THANK YOU!

My life has had many twists and turns throughout the last 10 years but you were always there for me. Remember all my bad days...weeks...or even months and feeling so sad, mad, frustrated, lonely or empty? Yet the instant I walked through the door...there you were...wagging your tail and licking me as you always did. All you ever wanted to do was be with me: the bad me..the good me...the every day me.

Echo...please forgive me if I ever took you for granted because I never meant to do that. You were so incredibly important to me and so special. The joy you brought into our home was endless and boundless. No matter what was happening...good or bad....you always made everything feel better. I know that you touched the heart of every single person that you met...even the mail man. Every one knew who was barking or walking around the block. Everyone knew You: Echo.

You have left me with so many memories...it’s difficult to name them all. At this moment my heart aches when I think about all our memories because that makes me miss you even more. I know that at some point...I will be able to remember our memories with a smile. You have touched my life like nobody else. Although, I know that I taught you many things....I learned much more from you. You taught me loyalty, true companionship, forgiveness, and one of the most rare and special things any human being can be given: unconditional love.

Please remember that I love you so much and that I appreciated you in my life from day one. You were the best dog ever and I could not have asked for a better best friend. I am sad now because I won’t have you anymore but the love that you gave me will forever be in my heart. I know that Cappy, Kano, Tyson, Tigger and Duke will be waiting for you on the bridge and that you will be well taken care of by your family. Your earth family will forever miss you but will be comforted with all of the beautiful memories you left behind with us.
