Sampson was adopted on June 13,2003 as a Grammer school graduation gift to his Best friend Taryn and fast became a member of the family.Sampson was a loyal protector to all of us, & his best young friend Honey. He loved to play tug of war with his rope toy and have you throw it so he could run full speed to go get it and bring it back to you again & again! He would drop that darn toy next to you on the couch and keep pushing it toward you until you gave in! Honey would grab one end and lay down while Sammy would drag him across the floor!It was histerical.Honey kept Sam young& active! They often chased one another round n round the rooms! He LOVED his cookies,and would speak,chase his tail ,give you his paw and hop up and down to get one, recently I taught him high five !He loved to watch you work around the house and would even help by tearing up boxes for you-one time we were struggling to get a washer out the door and he grabbed hold of the hose and pulled it across the room and through a doorway!,As much as he loved to go outside he always wanted to stay close to us and didnt want to stay out there alone.He always let us know if Honey hopped the fence and which direction he went in! And, of course he always alerted us to any kind of trouble,he would literally jump out of his sleep and bark and run in the direction of the noise. He made us feel safe! Of course being a Rottie he could be stubborn as hell!,and naughty too,stealing garbage or socks when he was younger. When he first came here the first thing he did was walk in the house,jump at his reflection in the mirror and broke it...next he stole dads sandwhich off the counter and ran like hell! But, he was quick to learn & eager to please.As big & ferosious as he looked to others we knew he meant no harm, he was just cautious & nervous and wanted to protect us! Although heartbroken we can smile at his pictures & laugh at the memories of all his crazy antics knowing he is Happy & free from suffering., He gave us alot of Love & Happy memories,was there through the rough times & the good times and I am greatfull that I got to be one of the humans he trusted most .We love & miss you!
