Nickname: Quark-a-doodle, doodle, doodlebug, little buddy

Quark was a loving and wonderful dog. Everyone that knew him said he was so well behaved and sweet. He loved to chase squirrels and play outside unless the weather was bad. In bad weather he was always right next to me and would not leave my side. My husband and I adopted him about 2.5 years ago. In that time we have shared holidays, birthdays, and tons of play time with him. He suffered from occasional seizures but dealt well with them and only ever wanted someone to be with him when it was happening. Quark loved to trick my other dog (Storm). He would pick up toys and run around with them if Storm was getting attention. Storm would take off after him, he would drop the toy and run to the person who was giving attention. Storm would be left standing holding the toy, wondering what just happened. Once Quark even brought my husband his water dish and only once did he ever do that. One other cute thing he did only once was to put his chewy in his food dish so the other dog wouldn't get it, since the other dog wasn't allowed near his dish. This was only discovered cause Storm was longingly staring at the dish and we looked to see what he was staring at. It was so cute! There are so many little memories, Quark loved to go into the front yard. I always said that it was good thing he had skin otherwise he just wanted to go everywhere at once. He was a crazy ball of energy walking in the neighborhood but in a pet store he was very well behaved. We love him and will miss him greatly. Quark spent his final days in the hospital trying to find the cause for massive swelling and bruising. He never complained and the staff assumed he was not in pain. He told a different story when we saw him though, he wined and groaned but only for a moment. He was a trooper and we tried to spare him any more pain. The doctors could not help him, he had cancer and it was ravaging his little body. We were with him when he left us and hope that he has journeyed to Doggy Heaven. Here we'll remember him and grieve for him, for words cannot express our sadness or the loss felt. Storm is beginning to understand and grieve in his own way. We will do what we can to make the transition easy for him also.
