Truly mans best friend! You will continue to be loved and always in our hearts until we meet again!

This is dedicated to my ex boyfriend who recently lost his baby and bestfriend. I will tell as much as I know to the best of my abilities about this little guy who was yet so small but touched so many hearts with his extraordinary spirit!
Mike received a gift unaware of how much this would change his life and capture his heart.It was a Miniature Pinscher whom he named Rocky. Mike babied Rocky and soon found the true definition of "mans best friend". They grew together as friends,shared good times and bad. They would play in the yard at their beautiful Tennessee home,napped together and shared silent moments when Mike was lonely and sad. Mikes parents are separated and lived in two different states so the circumstances made it a difficult time for Mike.Dealing with the traveling back and forth to see each parent,as well as his brothers, on-top of leaving Rocky behind from time to time,not by his choice mind you.
Rocky possessed that special spirit that would uplift you in sad times and give you that drive to come home just to see the joy he unleashed as you walked through the door. Even though Mike would need to leave him at times Rockys loyalty never wavered and every time Mike would come back home, it was as if they never parted.
In 2009,about the time Rocky was 8 1/2 - 9 years old , they noticed something different going on with Rocky so they made a trip to the Vets. After some testing the vet diagnosed Rocky with diabetes and he would need daily insulin injections to keep stable. They did whatever was needed to keep Rocky healthy and happy.
In April 2011 Mike went back to visit his father,brothers and of course Rocky. While Mike was visiting Rocky seemed happy,healthy and they even took him to the Vet for routine bloodwork and a vaccine. Rocky came out with a clean bill of health even with diabetes he was doing great! Mike then left Tennessee once more but he knew Rocky was stable and happy there. Since Mike and I were together we were considering getting a place together in which he would soon be with Rocky permanently!
About a week after Mike left his brother was required to take a business trip and in which case Rocky and his playmate would need to board in a local kennel that the family had used for years so trust was not an issue.Approximately 9-10 days into the business trip his brother received a devastating phone call informing him that Rocky had crossed the Rainbow Bridge.Why?! When he left Rocky was healthy,happy and just seen the Vet.He immediately came home from his trip to tend to the issue that should have never happened. The kennel could not give a straight answer to how or what had happened to Rocky. Mikes brother had to make the difficult phone call to Mike and inform him about Rocky. When Mike received the phone call his heart was shattered! He had just seen his baby and now he is gone!
Two weeks after Rocky crossed the Rainbow Bridge another min pin showed up at his brothers doorstep! Call it coincidence or what you will but I call it a sign/miracle. I believe it's Rockys spirit letting Mike know he will continue to stand by him as he did faithfully for 10 years! Truly "Mans Best Friend"
