I will never heal from this loss

Nickname: baby girl

My precious Chanel. Words cannot express the pain i feel from your loss. I lost her due to an employees lack of correct care. I had boarded her at a vets for the weekend. She was put into a dog run with too large wire. She weighed 4.9 lbs. the vets office faces a busy highway. I left her thinking she would be safe. The vet identified her with the microchip i had put in her by his office. I still cry. DO NOT BOARD YOUR BABIES AT A VETS OFFICE! I have talked to several people who have had the same experience, losing a beloved pet at the vets.
This little baby would help me pull weeds, she would watch which ones i pulled, and she would dig and bite them to get them out.She would even lay on her side, because she would get tired. She had a broken hip from being spanked too hard by her former owner. I got the vet to fix the broken hip. She was almost over it when she was hit.
When i was working in the yard, she would come up and gaze into my eyes to tell me how much she loved me. She and a horned toad had a standoff one day. i tried to video tape it, but my camera did not get it. When she would go on one side of the toad, it would shift its weight to put that side down. it would jump at her and she would jump back. She did not hurt it in any way, i made sure of it. It was too funny.
When I left to buy groceries, or whatever, when I got back, I would have to sit down, because she wanted to kiss me, me hold her, and she would tell me how much she loved me. I wish i could have done more for her. By the way, she was my first little house dog. that may be why it hurt so much.
Right after she died, my husband and i both heard a dog tag being shaken as if on a collar. I had taken all the collars off my outside dogs because I couldn't bear to hear it. Then in a few days, I heard the tinkle of small wind chimes. There was no wind. I know she was trying to tell me she was ok. But I still hurt over her. I think I could have accepted it better if she had died of an illness. I have a new little love now. I was grieving so badly , my husband told me to get on the internet and find another one. I did, but had to go to Pennsylvania to get her. She looked the most like my Chanel. By the way, the vet paid for my trip, the new dog and the cremation and urn for Chanel. But , she is not Chanel. Also, the employee still has a job there, so the dogs that are boarded there (it is also a rescue shelter) are in danger. Please heed my advice, take your dog with you, or leave them with a trusted friend.
