Nickname: Jada Gril
Zsa Zsa Imada was born in Hawaii and was adopted by my wife and I shortly thereafter. As new parents, we went through the usual trials and tribulations, including potty training. She had a very unusual Apricot coloration and she had the most beautiful does eyes that made you melt before her. And live the female vixen that she was, her bark was silky and earthly and very recognizable. Although we both loved her, somehow she became daddy's girl and our princess,
And like many other pets, she was never a pet or owned by us, but was and will always be a beloved member of the Imada Family. Once I had to stay home and not move for 30 days, no reading, TV or standing or sitting up. She kept me sane, never leaving my side, always showing and telling me that was not alone. If only for that, and nothing else, she was a Saint.
Never complaining about not receiving attention in return.
Of course we spoiled and pampered when we could, but during time of unemployment, we could afford Vet services, which I regret to this day. She got gum disease and had to remove all of teeth and we had to change he diet. Right after that not matter the cost, her health issues became our issues. I was fortunate to locate a Banfield Hospital with the best loving and caring staff. Purchasing a wellness plan, she got he shot, pills, etc, and soon became a part of the Banfield family too. Employees and Doctors leave, and new one join, but they loved Zsa Zsa. They knew she hated being kept in a cage, so they let her roam the backroom and someone was always there t pick her up and hold her when she got tired. One nurse in particular,Joanne fell in love with Zsa Zsa and always made a point to see us and call to inquire about her health. An error in a diagnosis by a new Vet resulted in a concern for her health and Joanne cried at the thought of losing her.
We got Halston, another poodle to keep her company, and although she ignored him, I could tell she enjoyed the company. About 1 year before her passing, we were informed that Zsa Zsa health was deteriorating and we got another poodle to take her place and to keep Halston company. Of course, no one could ever take her place, but we felt comforted that she another playmate, despite the shortness of time.
Her declining health required a Hart Specialist,MRI and other expenses, which we gladly paid to keep Zsa Zsa with us. SHe suffered seizures which required early morning emergency vet vists and late nights spent cooling her down and spoon water for her to
drink. As her parents, this our responsibility and we never complained.
On Weds, August 11, 2011 at 1:00pm, Zsa Zsa passed away peacefully, after havng struggled to breath and stay alive for me and her brother and sister to see and kiss her one lat time. She passed a few hours before, was rived, but that was her last bit of energy. I had to make the most difficult decision of my life and perhaps in my lifetime, that it was time for her to go to heaven, it was time for me to let her go and ease her pain. y wife cold not bear to see her and I was is not shape to drive,so Cindy from Banfield drove me to the Specialist for our last visit and handled Zsa Zsa for transport to Banfield, to be among her friends.
I did not want think about the "funeral proceedings" but the next day, Cindy called to console me and told me that her boss wanted Zsa Zsa to have the best memorial and offered to pay memorial expenses because of how much she meant to them. Today is Saturday and my wife and I made the visit to thank the Banfield staff and to choose an urn and the memorial plaque.
We plan a very small and intimate memorial service in September..
All poster here know the and share the loss of a loved family member. We have a bond that no one can ever understand if they never adopt a girl or a boy.
My wife and I will forever love Zsa Zsa and keep in our hearts. I have to always remind myself that she is in a better place, happy, running free, no pain and having the time of her life. I pray to God that my wife and I will become a family again when we too are no longer of this world.
