To the best dog I truly ever had

Nickname: Bru Bru, Bru, Baba

Bruiser is like a friend who'll never leave me.

We wake up almost each and every morning together. He's always on my left side when we sleep. He sometimes literally sleep on me and I somehow seem to not mind.

When I eat, he's always there beside me. He would find a way to peek through what I'm eating. His face will just be in between my arms and chest to have a good view of what I'm eating while making his puppy dog eyes that are irresistible.

But before grabbing any treat or food from me, he'll do tricks! He can sit down, lie down, roll over, jump, dance and eat the food in the air when I tell him to do so (2 ways! 1) when I say 1, 2, 3, GO! 2) ready, set, go!) He's an amazing and patient dog really.

When I go to the bathroom, he's always there. I think he knows that sometimes I do get scared cause I might see something. So he's always there. When I take a shower, he'll peek and see if I'm alright (or just being a pervert). Haha. He'll sleep if I take too long.

When I'm done with my business in the bathroom, I would go to the computer and sit on the big black couch. It's one of the few couches he can sleep on. When I allow him to go up the couch, he would dive into the many pillows and dive deeper into it. When he's done, I'll stay on my spot which is at the rightest side and he'll put his head on my lap while I'm doing my work.

When I'm off to school, I will always and definitely say goodbye to him! like "Bye Bruiser! I'll see you later!" And when I get home, he'll greet me by jumping up and down at the black metal screen door and rush to the kitchen door where I can let him go in.

Sometimes, Bruiser gets into incidents. Thrice did he go out of the house and chase and kill some chickens of my dad which got him into trouble. Also, twice, he ran straight to our gate in the compound and thankfully the guards caught him. He could've been ran over or something!

Bruiser was there when I needed someone the most. Me and my dad fought the most awful fight I've entered and he was there. I was crying as if he's a real human being and shared to him my feelings.

Bruiser was also there when we sleep. I know he's my guard dog in my sleep. I'm a big scaredy cat and knowing he's beside me makes me sleep comfortably. I like it when he sleeps! Sometimes, he'd snore like an adult man! He's mouth wide open and his tongue would slide out and droooool. Super cute.

Bruiser is someone I can just cuddle and play with. He's not an aggressive dog and he just loves people's company. And we, my family, love him back.

One of the most memorable days was when me, Bruiser, my mom and Hiro went out with him to Tiendesitas. It was his first outing with the family. He handled the many shoppers and curious dog lovers quite well.

Bruiser's always a sick dog and I don't know if it's my fault or whatnot. But I always bring him to the vet if it seems really odd. I pay for his bills even though I'm just a student relying on my allowance from my parents. I do everything that I can for him.

Unfortunately, his time ran out and leptospirosis and kidney stones caught up with him.

I miss you so much Bruiser. Please reincarnate in the next dog. I will definitely get a Boxer. I love you so much. I will never forget you.

But, the question still remains though, could I have saved him? Could this be all avoided? I feel that I am responsible for his cruel suffering and death. How am I for sure that he is in heaven? These are just some of the questions that still bugs me til this very day.
