Zeus was my baby, he put the sun in my sky and the beat in my heart.

Nickname: "Z", "Baby Boy", Zeus Monger, Zeus-Belush

My ex-wife and I seperated and she bought Zeus at 8 wks. but only had him til he was ten months old. She and zeus came by to visit one weekend and she asked me to babysit him for a week and I agreed, reluctantly. At the time, I was working long hours and would come home and find my plants pulled outta their pots, the window blinds torn down and chewed up, the trash rumaged thru and spread about the floor and some of my favorite ball caps torn to shreds! 6 more days of babysitting this brat, I thought? Well, six days passed and still no ex-wife, but I was spending a lot of time with a more loyal companion and ya know what? We got along better than she and I did!!! Well, to make a long story short, five weeks passed and finally the ex comes by to pick up Zeus. But ya know what? I wasn't about to let her take my son anywhere!!! She said she understood and didn't put up a custody battle(lol). I told her she could visit him anytime she wished and she did on occassion. Sadly, at about the age of eight, Zeus started showing symptoms of the beginning stages of hip-dyspalasia. Oh how he used to love to run! He'd chase deer thru the woods(and one time even received a swift kick in the chest) would always do his best to catch rabbits and coons, but never did...but I'd be his biggest fan cheering him on! He had his own loveseat, numerous stuffed toys(of which he'd tear the eyes out of!)all kinds of balls(big n small)frisbees and would not allow anyone to ignore him just because "company" was around! Well, yesterday, after watching him suffer for almost 48hrs, my wife and I had to make the hardest decision ever. At 3:45pm, Zeus was euthanized. my wife(who came into me and Zeus' lives when he was two)and I both held him gently all the while caressing his soft white fur, whispering I Iove you(which he had had grown accustom to all his life).It was and is, still so very heart-wrenching. I came home from work this morning and for the first time in thirteen years he wasn't there to greet me. Zeus, if angels are helping you to read this, please know Baby-boy, that me, momma and sissy abigail love and miss u severely and you will forever be in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace, my son, until the Lord reunites us for eternity!
