Little Miss Mackenzie II

Age 10, May 18, 2001 - February 17, 2012

Mackenzie left paw prints on our heart.

Nickname: Kenzie, Mackenzie, Big Mac

Mackenzie lost her battle with bone cancer on 02/17/12. She was laid to rest after it was decided that the pain was too much and not much more could be done for her. Her mommy had always promised her that she would never hurt if it could be helped.

Kenzie joined the Morgan family on August 18, 2001 when she was 12 weeks old, as a gift from her Aunt Mary. She stayed with Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike along with their 8 cats for a couple weeks until mommy moved into her house. Kenzie spent a lot of time at the rescue squad when she was little and was not disturbed by sirens because of that. She also had an affinity for cats; although, most did not think her love was so altruistic.

Kenzie was a neighborhood favorite and her mom was mostly known as "Kenzie's mom", even at the drug store and grocery store. She had taught the UPS man to throw her treats out his truck when he stopped at the stop sign by the house. Kenzie never really liked to play with toys, although she was very attached to one particular cow called "Moo Cow" and a small toy mouse. Kenzie loved kids and was especially found of Kiana and Knolan, who came to celebrate her life with her the night before she passed. Kenzie enjoyed a fabulous party with steak, pizza, and yogurt. There was nothing Kenzie wouldn't eat!

Kenzie was one of the few dogs I've known that would smile at you to tell you how much she liked having you around - or to give you mean looks when you tried to leave her! She enjoyed camping, hiking, swimming, and riding in the car. Kenzie used to love to go to work with her mommy and be the guard dog - making sure no one came too close or that all the kids were asleep when they were supposed to be. In the past few months, she taught her sister how to "sing" and they would often serenade me or the neighbors when they were bored.

Kenzie is survived by her mom, her sister, Madison, Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Jamie and Uncle E, Aunt Jen, Aunt Mary and Uncle Mike, Aunt April and Uncle Andy, Aunt Sherry, Aunt Vickie and Aunt Christy. As well as her "kids" - Kiana, Knolan, Hannah, Jonah, and Mary Beth. She was also loved and cared for by all her family and friends at the Animal Care Center of Salem, but especially Dr. Wadstrom and Dr. Noel who were with us til the end. There are many that that will miss her and whose hearts she has touched.
