Zoe the beagle, cherished member of our family. My best fur friend. I love her so much!

Zoe came to be my baby on October 9, 2000. That is my birthday. She was a birthday gift from my husband. I had been trying to talk him into a dog for quite some time. Zoe's birthday was July 15, 2000. That was our wedding day. She was meant to be ours. She was with us in our apartment, and then moved with us when we built our first home. One of the first things that I decided was a must was a backyard fence. Zoe loved to walk around and sniff. She was food obssessed. She loved all food and wanted to eat constantly. Typical beagle. She took Puppy kindergarten at Petsmart. I took her to Pooch Parade in Worthington, for pictures with Santa at Petsmart, for goodies at Three Dog Bakery, Easter Egg hunts at Doggie Daycare. Which she won first place in by the way. I also took her to Rescue Run for Pet Promise and the Dog Jog through Citizens for Humane Action. She traveled with us to WV. She became a big sister to a human girl (Kaylee) on 8/8/05 and again on 9/23/08 to Lauren (another human girl). She loved her little sisters dearly. She thought that they smelled like peanut butter and appreciated that they were a constant food source for her. She loved to lay in the sun. She would lay in the sun and pant. I never understood this, but that was Zoe. She loved bubble gum rawhides. I used to have birthday parties for her and she and other dog friends would bob for weiners.
She slowed down in her later years. Mostly napped and patrolled the fence line of the yard. She liked to look out our front window, and would almost always be there when you arrived home and when you left for the day. She started having breathing issues due to what we are 99.9% are sure was a tumor. She continually got worse until she couldn't even put her head down to rest and sleep.
Today it has been 8 days since she has left this earth. I still miss her. Some days are better than others. But coming home to this house without her has yet to get any easier. I miss her snoring beside my bed every night (she had a bone shaped dog bed, with lots of blankets). She used to love to get underneath of blankets. And sometimes you could see just the tip of her little nose sticking out.
I know that we made the right decision, I know that you are out of your misery. But it so lonely without you. I want you to know how much I appreciate your companionship and love for 11 1/2 years. I love you and miss you!!!!
