Mattie was a gentle giant..she was always friendly, loving and wanted to be with us..

Nickname: mattieboo

Mattie's life would have ended at 6 month of age if we had given her back to the breeder
due to her health issues..our vet at the time told us.."she doesnt know she has hip displesia
so we wont tell her." She was a normal loving dog in all ways..As a puppy her favorite toys were big plastic totes and laundry baskets..For whatever reason, if she could get hold of one she would carry it around and acutally throw it around, then tackel it..
She was given a huge stuffed yellow lab toy which she carried around as well. We moved
from a large city to a very small town in 2004. We have since then put in big vegetable gardens..Mattie loved vegetables..she had her own zucchini plant. Every day she would go out to the garden a pick one and eat it..if there was none left, she would move to cukes.
As a last resort she would hit my husband's pumpkin patch...
Mattie was a wonderful pheasant hunting dog..my husband will have a hard time this fall
remembering all of the funny hunting stories and all of the times he and Mattie took breaks
while hunting and they both fell asleep in the sun..
We both held her til she passed, told her that we loved her and would see her again.
Its been hard since she passed, but we know she is waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.
