Nickname: Maj, Handsome boy
Major entered our lives after a trip to a local flea market. As we wandered around looking at all the booths we noticed a little dog sitting all by himself in a pen. He was a beautiful little man but, looked so sad all alone. So we ventured over to take a peek.
Once we looked closer we realized he was an adorable German shepherd puppy. My husband grew up with a GSD and had a soft spot for the breed and since resisting a puppy is futile he just had to pick him up. Once he held that furry little man in his arms my husband's heart melted. I tried to be strong and resist. I even refused to hold him at first (because I knew once I did it was all over). But, my husband put him on my chest and let go so I had no choice but to grab him so he wouldn't fall. Well, that was the end of that. We weren't leaving without that puppy!
Major was the best dog. Even as a puppy he rarely got into trouble. He wasn't rambunctious and crazy. He was always an "old soul". Calm and loving and protective.
Major was also a "talker". When he first started "talking" to us (growling) we were worried. But, we quickly learned that it was just his way of expressing himself. He growled when he was happy, content, sad, and angry. It didn't matter what you said or thought...he was going to tell you all about it.
Major loved his "kids". He loved his "mom and dad". And after he was introduced to you...he loved you too. He brought us such incredible joy. Every time we came home from work or school it was a celebration. He was so happy to have us home. His favorite place was perched next to a loved one with his head on your lap.
We miss our Handsome Boy. There will never be another dog like him.
