I know about losing a beloved pet.

Dear Cathy I feel your loss. We lost our beloved Zephyr almost 2 years ago, and sometimes I still think he is under foot. He helped my daughter through a difficult time. I had the pleasure of meeting Dakota and he was great and will be missed.RIP

Dakota came into our lives while I was volunteering with a rescue group. We were picking up kittens, but the workers at CACC told us about him and how he was slated to be put down. He looked at me with those sweet eyes and that was it. Originally I was only going to foster him, but it soon became clear he already had his forever home. People search for the perfect dog, but mine found me.
About a week after, I was in a car accident. Dakota seemed to know just when I needed him. When my mind started to wander back to the accident, he would come and give me a nuzzle or snuggle next to me with his head on my lap. He was pure love on four legs. He gave the same comfort to my husband when he lost his job.
He was a curious dog who loved going on car trips. We went camping once, and he was so excited to see all the different animals.
Most importantly, he was truly a child's best friend. Our children loved him, and so did their friends. He will be missed!
