Kammy was a beautiful,loving,energeric girl who left us a little too soon.

We adopted Kammy when she was five from a hunter in the small town of Soda Springs Idaho. Despit the fact that she was so beautiful,loving,energetic and eager to please she spent the first five years of her life in a kennel with three other dogs through hot Summers or frigid Idaho Winters. The only time this loving soal left the kennel was for hunting trips with a man who seemed a little short on compassion. All I know of his oppinion of her is that she was "a damn fine hunter". From the moment we met her she showed a great focus,energy and eagerness to please. So began her well deserved retirement,
For the last five years Kammy has been looking after my 63 year old mother,my labrodor Molly who had a heart attack last year at 14 and myself. All the time she has been with us this extremly intellegent lady has shown us the deepest love imaginable. I know she was grateful for the drastic change in lifestyle. Kammy and Molly all but saved me from final stage alcoholism. When I had no sober friends I had them,we where inseperable. Last year Kammy watched in horror as Molly passed and she helped me cope with the loss. For the next year Kammy was with me every possible moment with that spry,intelectual smile. She would bounce next to me on every walk to the store,help me in my bike shop and accompany mom to work on the graveyard shift. She had an energy that would always get me out the door and the whole neighborhood knew,trusted and adored her. Her vibrant energy of a four year old never relented...even till her last day.
We found a large bump on Kammy's front knuckle a couple months ago and found out two Weeks ago it was a bone tumor and her time was limited. This news was devistating to us! Her vet said "now is the time to let Kammy live how she wants" and im gratrful. I got to spend some quality time with her and appreciate her unmatched love until her limp got too bad and we found another tumor on her back leg last week. We agreed that although she still tried to please eagerly that we simply could not allow her to live in that much pain any longer. We made the hardest decision of my life and mom and I sat with her and comforted her as we watched her be euthanized. I so hope it was peaceful for her and it seemed to be but it broke my heart to watch such a valiant and vibrant creature die. We carried her remains to the mountains north of Boise and placed her in the ground. Kammy is now resting peacefully near her dear friend Molly. Thank you sweet girls for giving such light to my life...
