Once By My Side...Forever In My Heart....

Nickname: Chancey Pants, Chancellor, Chicken Noodle

I found a beagle on petfinder named ralph, through Eleventh Hour Rescue in NJ- brought up from Georgia. he was with me for 5 weeks, then died due to complications of seizures. the next day, they brought Chance up from Georgia, and in my grief i somehow knew he was brought up for me. He was 5 years old, and nearly died from heartworm disease- but thankfully was able to come home to me and we became fast friends. He was perfect in every way- never really chewed up anything, was well behaved/ listened, loved long walks, going for car rides, sleeping, visiting friends, the park, the beach, and did i mention eating?? :) his grandmom always spoiled him with treats and goodies. he loved going to my sister's house where he got lots of sleep and filet mignon lol. he particularly loved going to my friend's house where his girlfriend lives- and he got lots of walks, love & affection, food lol, and spent most of the time sleeping under their piano, where he had a great view of all the action, but didnt have to be bothered if he didnt want to. he started slowing down, and after some testing and exams, it was discovered he had a spleen hemangiosarcoma. after all the medical he had been through, i didnt want to subject him to something that likely would be more torture- so we hung in there until we couldnt- everyone told me i would, and i knew it was his time. on 7/2/12, the vet came to our house, so that he could pass away on his beloved sofa, with the 2 people who loved him most by his side. it was very hard, it still is very hard, but i am so grateful for the 6 1/2 years i had with him. i miss his face and his ears all the time. we now have a new dog, who cant replace chance, but is definitely making his own way in our family & hearts in a big way- and i know chance brought him to us, & look forward to chance's legacy living on through him. xoxoxo
