My dear Chito,
I remember the first day I met you. You were a ball of energy, jumping on me. We have shared so many memories together. You have seen me through college, jobs and now nursing school. I couldn't bear the thought that one day you would not be by my side. Only a week ago, you were running on the beach and playing with your brothers. You went so quickly after that. I really thought we had more time together. Letting you go was the hardest thing I had to do. I could't stand to see you suffer a moment more. It hurt my heart so much. Please forgive me I couldn't do more for you. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. I miss you so much, my little boy. I know you are above me, looking after everyone.

Chito's favorite room in the whole house was the kitchen. If you walked in, he would walk in right behind you and find the first grocery bag to plop down on and wait for any scrap to fall to the ground. He was my sous chef and was always eager to help by lending me his taste buds.

I was walking Chito by Washington High one afternoon when I heard the crackle of a bone. I quickly looked down and saw Chito with a half-eaten chicken wing in his mouth. I grabbed the bone, trying to pull it out of his mouth only to have him chomp down even tighter. He held that bone so tight that I had to use both my hands to open his mouth and pull the bone out of his mouth.
