You were always so happy around me. Everytime I would come home from work, even the day before your death, you would so happily greet me. Your tail in the air, and your teeth were always showing. You didn't know how happy it would made me feel.

You were my princess and you knew it. I spoiled you so much and after you were diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure I did everything I could so that the last days of your life would be the most happiest and comfortable for you. I remember how heartbreaking it was for me and your grandma when we heard the news of your condition. I remember spending the whole paycheck I had to take you to the veterinarian when you were coughing so loudly but I didnt care at all, as long as they gave me some medication to treat you.

After you were diagnosed, I was so shocked to see how strong you were. You would have days where you didnt want to get up from bed, but then there were days where you would get back up, bark, walk, and I would always sing you the " leidy, the warrior princess." song. I remember when your apetite was failing, and I went everywhere I could to find you some supplements for you to eat. I did everything I could to make you feel happy. I would buy you grilled chicken breast, your grandma would cook you some chicken with rice (your favorite food), and You loved every bit of it. The day before your death your grandma made you a special dinner, and you left the plate empty. I remember that day before your death, when I came home from work you were so happy, your hair was so white and glowy, and your tail was wagging. I remember telling you in baby voice " k linda mi leidy po!" how beautiful you were and you looked at me with your beautiful dark eyes. You were up and sturdy and I was so proud of you.

I have so many beautiful memories of you. We were so attached , and everywhere I would go, you would always follow me. I would let you lay in my bed for hours. I remember how I would sleep with you at night, I would sing to you these funny sweet songs...and you would look at me and get so happy. you knew how much I loved you.

My favorite memory I have of you was when I got married and moved out to another apartment.They didnt allow pets in the apartment, so I had to leave you at grandmothers but I always visited you in the weekends. We went on many weekend trips but, One weekend, I picked you up and dressed you up, and took you with me to spend the weekend at my new apt. We went to this beautiful dog park at coconut grove. We spent the whole day there walking, playing, sitting in a bench, I remember you were so happy. You would look at me and the park and then look at me again with your mouth open in amazement. You were so beautiful. You loved my new apartment. I loved taking you out on walks.... the way you walked was so cute and diva-ish. Later on me and bladi had to move out of the apartment and back to your grandmas house again, and you were so happy...and So was I to have you everyday to myself again.
I also remember when I took you to the dog beach in Key Biscayne. There were doggies everywhere, I put you in the water, and you soaked up. You were so thrilled!!

You loved driving with me, and you would always sit on my lap by the window. You always wanted to sit there and I would put the window down so that you can stick your head outside to smell the air. The last days of your life, I tried to make you the happiest and the most comfortable. I did not miss any of your medications... I remember putting you relaxing music while you would sleep in my bed... I would stroke you, and give you massages.... You would drift away to sleep.

Last night you were in really bad shape... I remember you laid on top of me...and I could hear your heart and lungs pound really bad. I felt so bad looking at you breathing so hard, and worse knowing that I couldnt really do anything else to help you. There wasnt a day or hour where I didnt miss your medication. Even though your body wasnt well, You spirit was so strong til the very end...I am so proud of everything you did, and how tight you held on.

Even though I am devestated right now, I am happy knowing that I did everything that I could to keep you alive. I made you as comfortable and as happy as I knew you would like it..that you lived with me for so many years and shared so many good memories with me. I honor You and thank you for your companionship, your love, warmth and for making me happy.
