Memory of Cupcake
Cupcake was not just a pet; she was a beautiful legacy from her beloved grandfather, Pa'Chino Al Hubbard who passed away before she was even born. Gifted to me by my aunt just before she left this world, Cupcake brought a piece of family history into my life, making her presence even more special.
From the moment she came into my life, Cupcake’s sweetness and unwavering protectiveness warmed my heart. She was undeniably bougie, strutting around with an air of elegance that belied her tiny four-pound frame. Whenever handymen came to the house and saw the “Beware of Dog” sign, they would chuckle at the sight of this little diva. But behind that petite figure was a fierce protector, ready to defend her family.
Cupcake grew alongside my grandson, sharing countless joyful moments, especially during our seafood days—she absolutely adored shrimp! Watching her revel in those simple pleasures brought so much happiness to our family.
She had an uncanny ability to sense when I was at my lowest. On my worst days, when tears would flow, she would rush into my room, her gentle presence a comforting reminder that I was never alone. Her loyalty and love were unparalleled; she was my perfect companion.
I knew it was time to say goodbye when she stopped chasing the squirrels in our backyard, a sad sign that our adventures together were coming to an end. Run free now, my sweet girl. Mommy will always love you, and there will never be another like you.
