We love and miss you so much LayLay! You brough us so much joy and love when you entered our home.

Our dog died while trying to give birth to her puppies. It was on a Sunday and she was having a painful day, which I thought was normal from everything I had read on the internet. She started labor around 9:30AM and passed at 8:30PM. I instantly called the clinic and left a message. No one called me back, which they're suppose to have emergency service, so I just went ahead with her to the clinic. I called back from my cell and left another message saying I was on my way there and left the number. We waited there for over an hour before the vet called me back and by that time he said it was too late, too long to do anything for the puppies. He said that they had to be removed within minutes after the mommy's heart stopped beating to be able to save them and that he was sorry. While waiting, I noticed what I thought was one sac coming out and I told my daughter and she started crying and said, "mommy please try to get it, please just let this one be alive, it's a part of her(Lady)." But, there was no way, I couldn't get it out, the momma was too little. Come to find out, it was actually two sacs coming out. So two were trying to come out at the same time. If only the clinic had give us some info on what to look for and what to do in case of an emergency. But, they didn't give or tell us anything on what to expect or do for a pregnant dog. After reading about pregnant dogs dieing while in labor, we feel that she died from eclampsia and dystocia. She died a painful death and I didn't even know it. I'm so sorry Lady for the suffering you had to go through. We love and miss her so much. She was such a sweety to be around. She didn't have a mean bone in her body. This is just a really hard thing for us to get over. We miss her sweetness so much! In closing, I just want everyone to know that if they plan on breeding, know everything there is to know about it and the pregnancy and birth before even attempting it. This has put such a void in our lives that'll never be filled by anything again but her memory. I feel the best possible way to avoid such heartache is to have your pet spayed or neutered because you just never know what complications or emergency can happen. And, if like us, you may not live in an area where a vet is readily available at all times. Love your pets.
