We got Jack & his brother Bo on Christmas Eve 1997, he was 7 weeks old. He was a huge puppy and if he grew into his skin and paws, we knew we were going to be in trouble!! His feet were so big that he would trip himself up when he ran! He was such a sweet & loving puppy who loved to chase a tennis ball and to swim! At the lake you could not get him out of the water! He was such a southern gentleman, always waiting on the ladies to enter a room first or he would wait until you made it thru the door before he entered. He loved to howl at firetruck sirens and his brother, Bo looked at him with amazement! He was scared of loud noises such as thunder & fireworks. His best friend was his brother, Bo! They played together their entire life and slept together every night! Bo really misses Jack!
The saddest day of our life was Monday, June 29, 2009............. Jack was resting in his favorite spot on the couch with his Daddy when he suddenly started to dry heave and he walked to the back door. His Daddy let him out and watched him. Jack fell to his abdoman and was dry heaving. His Daddy quickly went to his side and helped him up, that is when he noticed Jack's abdoman was swollen like a barrel. His Daddy picked him up and had him at the Vet's office within 15 mins. A Xray showed our worst fear, Jack's stomach had flipped, "BLOAT", and he needed emergency surgery! Once he was in surgery the Vet said Jack's stomach had indeed flipped and his stomach had ruptured. The Vet was unable to sew up Jack's stomach, stating it was like trying to put a wet paper towel back together! Jack was euthanized on the OR table and that is when our heart was broken..........
We miss him every day and he has a huge chunk of our heart with him!! We love you Jack and we miss you terribly!! You were such a good puppy, you were our best friend, you are still our baby!!!
