Our sweet Trixie how she touched our family even till this very day! She was our first pet to our new home & the life my husband & I were sharing together. I remember when my husband first picked her out among her brother and sister. He knew which one was to be ours to take home. Our first Christmas was so much fun. We got her this cow that moooed and she did not know what to think of it. She took in her mouth and when it made a sound she would drop it and look at it in a funny way. Well she had gotten used to it and we would play fetch with it, till one day the head of it tore off. She was devastated and I got my sewing kit out and started to fix it. She just sat and stared at me fixing her cow. She loved her cow sooo very much. So we gave it the nickname Christmas cow, it was her only gift she loved that she got at Christmas. Well one day we brought another dog into our lives and they were playing with the cow and the head come off. Trixie laid next to the body of the cow while the other dog was shaking the head in its mouth. Pour Trixie did not know how to handle that and at that point the cow was totally destroyed. So I went to the store and bought her a brand new cow. Happy days for her again. When she was killed I tried to find the cow to burry with her and it was no where to be found but several months later one our new puppies had found it. I cried like I had lost her all over again. It was like I had lost her all over again. I have had many pets in my life time that have left a huge mark on my heart but when a pet is killed on your property because someone was a cruel person it made her death hurt more. Yes, my Trixie was murdered and because she was a pet and not a human there was nothing the authorities could or would do. I still think of that phone call till this day, when my husband called me at work. He left her outside while he ran an errand and when he came back he notice her not moving. I knew she was killed at that moment. We called the sheriffs’ office and they came out but said there was nothing they could do. My son took it hard and our daughter was too young to know what happened. I cried myself into a sinus infection and had to go to the ER. While I was there it amazed me how many people shrugged and said yeah we had a pet that was poisoned too, but nothing gets done to the other party that takes our most precious pets form our life. Her death tore through our happy home. Our little girl would only fall asleep if we brought here out to an empty yard and said goodnight to our beloved pet that was no longer there. See Trixie would get up on our bed to comfort our daughter or when my husband would leave early in the morning he would put my daughter in bed next to me and Trixie would climb up and act like a bed rail so she would not fall off. Trixie loved feet and would lick my daughter’s feet for hours. (Haha) We have many more memories of her and miss her so very much. LOVE YOU FOREVER, MY SWEET TRIXIE!
