Nickname: Abbey

Abbey was the kind of dog who touched everyone she met. She was the best pet that we have ever had and was very special to our twin girls Paige and Hailey. Riley, our newborn, unfortunately only had 5 months to really get to know Abbey and that was entire too short as they say. At 7 years of age, our veterinarian discovered that Abbey had Addison's Disease, a rare adrenal gland disorder that required several different types of medications, special foods, and a shot of percorten every 25-30 days at our Vets Office. She lived for 8 more years having great success in managing her Addison's Disease, but towards the end, she had issues with incontinence and bladder control. She was always happy right down to the very last moments as we were always by her side, but her quality of life was quicky diminishing and we felt like it was the right thing to do by restoring her dignity. It was the toughest decision any responsible owner has to make, but you have to do what is right and sometimes the right decisions are ones that still haunt you with regrets and second thoughts. I guess if we did not love Abbey as much as we did, we would not be having these thoughts. Abbey, I hope that you are at peace wherever you are! You Family is forever greatful for the memories we have of you and the times we spent together. You will never be forgotten!
