My True Friend and Lovely Dog! We will miss you always. Love Mommy, Daddy and Tinky.

Nickname: Clapinker, Pinker, Pichas.

I got Pinky when I was 15 years old from my cousin in Venezuela. My cousin was moving and couldn't keep her anymore. Pinky was 1 year old and from the moment I got her we became BEST FRIENDS! She was definitely the dog I always wanted.

I decided to move to the USA one year later and couldn’t leave Pinky behind. So I took her with me in a backpack. It was like we were going on a big adventure together. Here we got even closer, she slept with me, played with me and a lot of times ate with me. Pinky was a very protective dog. She had a thing about not allowing others to get too close to her mommy. Even daddy (my husband) had a tough time getting close to me at night.

At our wedding four years later Pinky and our new dog Tinky brought our wedding rings down the stairs. This was definitely the funniest and one of the greatest moments of our wedding. I was so proud because she came straight down the stairs to deliver mommy's ring. It was as if she approved of our marriage.

Pinky knew how to make me feel comfortable when I was sad or alone. She made me laugh and kiss her every day for ten years. She learned to take my pillows at night time when we were sleeping and a lot of times I would wake up with neck ache. All in all, she was the kind of dog everyone liked. She knew how to be the center of attention everywhere she went. Most of her time was spent sitting on laps and requesting petting from the closest person. She really loved interacting with people and her brother Tinky. Everyone in our building and family knew her by her distinct character. She was always on alert and spent time teaching her brother to follow her lead. She taught him to bark and go down the stairs. These were things he was afraid to do when we first got him. She also showed him where to go pee pee. She was a true pack leader!!!

She had a few health issues and when we thought there were no more; ONE came and took her life. The good thing is that she didn't suffer. She practically passed away in her sleep next to me.

My husband, Tinky and I buried her in my mother-in-law’s garden under a palm tree. We placed a grave stone to mark the spot. Each day we return to cry and pray for her. This has been so difficult to handle. We hoped this day would never come. The sense of loss and longing is so great. Every time we open the door we look for her. She is missing from every part of our lives. We are all lost without her.

Now we have Tinky left to comfort us. We have had him now for 5 1/2 years and it's been difficult for him too. But we have each other and we love him very much.

We miss Pinky terribly but we know she is in a better place and some day we will get together again! We sure hope so!!! Seeing her again would make us so happy!
