*Before he destroyed the love seat, he would lie down on the window sill and just observe the neighborhood. He’d bark at anything that came by: Cars, people, squirrels, other dogs. After the loveseat went, he would come up to my room and perch himself on the corner of my bed. It was just enough where he could look out my bedroom window. When he felt he was on guard, he would stand up and bark like crazy. Seeing this from the outside was funny because this little dog is looking at you from a tiny space in a window. *

*He was like a shark when we would be sitting down for dinner. He wasn’t tall enough to reach the top of the table or counter, but if you left anything close enough he would snatch it from you. One day, a bowl of hot meatballs had been left too close to the counter’s edge, and he managed to tip them all over the floor and onto himself. He was in his glory. He did not know which one to eat first! My parents managed to scoop up every meatball but one, the one he scarfed down even though they were piping hot. *

*He was the smallest dog with the biggest mouth. Once near a horse ranch upstate, he spotted two horses and would not stop barking at them. The two horses just stared back at him as if they were asking, "What is this dog doing? we are 10 times his size!";
still, he kept barking. Finally my dad had to pull him away. Either of those horses could’ve kicked him a mile away.*

*Once we were watching Bruce Almighty. Lefty was watching it with us. In the scene where Jennifer Anniston’s character walks in the bathroom to see a Dalmatian using the toilet like a human would, Lefty barked at the Dalmatian after it barked in the movie.*

*He was very jealous of my girlfriend and I. He always had to sit or lie down ALWAYS between us & sometimes just growl at her as I would pet him*

*One day my girlfriend accidentally spilled a container of grated Parmasean Cheese ALL OVER THE KITCHEN and all over herself while sitting down and he leaped into her lap to eat it all. He made sure to eat as much as he possibly could before my mom and I cleaned it up. The cleanup wasn't that bad having him there*

*If my Dad was watching football and would scream "TOUCHDOWN" and throw his arms up like the referee, Lefty would put his paws up"

*We used to throw squeaky balls around the house and Lefty would go chase them. He’d bring them back to us but he didn’t want to give them up so easily. Once we did get control of the ball, he’d bark, as if he were saying “c’mon, keep playing with me!” We could do this until he ran out of breath.*

*Most nights he’d cuddle up next to my mother as she watched her T.V. shows. He would lean back and like to have his tummy rubbed. By 10 o’clock, he was done for the night.*

*He did well in obedience class. He and I did our homework together. I trained him how to sit, lay down, and stay still for a few seconds. He also learned the meaning of the word “NO”. He loved those hot dog bits.*

*When my parents would go away on vacation, he’d get so lonely and depressed. He’d stay with me most of the time. He would look out the window or the front door, just waiting for them to return. When they did return, he wouldn’t stop crying. It was like he was asking “How could you leave me alone like that? How dare you?! Where were you?! Why were you gone for so long?” Come to think of it, this happened whenever my parents were gone for longer than they were supposed to be gone.*

*Unfortunately, He was prone to getting seizures. They digressed as he got them but each time someone needed to be with him to comfort his fears. His body would become stiff and we would have to keep him calm. We would have to wait, sometimes hours until he finally broke out of it. Afterward, he would get a nice bath. He would try and escape the bath because he wasn’t fond of the shower head. After the bath we’d dry him off as he barked at the hairdryer.*

*He once took a packet of instant oatmeal from my mom’s bag while no one was around. When my Dad came into the kitchen, he noticed a smell. My dad found a ripped open, empty oatmeal pack and little flakes everywhere. Lefty was trying to lick it up as fast as he could but he couldn’t get every piece that he left in two rooms.*

*He had a tendency for cleaning plates. He was a “scavenger” as my mother would call him. If you left your dinner plate, he would sometimes jump in your seat and go to town on your dinner. He liked to lick plates clean too. He would stick his snout in tall glasses to drink our beverages, rip open sugar packets, once drank soy sauce from a container while we had sushi, and once tasted the really spicy Chinese mustard out of curiosity. Needless to say he never wanted that again. *

*The only way to get him to take his seizure medication was to hide it inside peanut butter. his absolute favorite treat*
