In a span of a week, we lost our little boy that we had for only eight years. Jock was born on the same day we got the keys to our first house. We knew we were somehow destined to be with this little man as we called him. We got him three months before we got married and was at our wedding day sporting a sparkled silver bow tie I got at Petsmart. We always joked his head was too big for his body when he was a puppy. His big nose was great for kissing and he always made sure to get lots each day. He always had a bounce to his step whenever he walked. So light on his feet like he was floating each day because he was happy to be at his house and with his mommy and daddy. He was happy that he got his walks from daddy everday which was the priority in po-po's life.. He use to do a little jump and give a short bark if he wanted a walk or if you were eating steak. He would give you the look to break you down.

We took him to training at Petsmart when he was pup, our son graduated but not without being the goof in the class (just like his mom I would say). Part of the training was everyone switched dogs and see how they walked for someone different than the parents. He cried and cried because he never could stand to be away from us. I use to cry when I got in the car after I took him to the groomer because I could hear his cries as they dragged him away. I hated being away from him too. He was loved by everyone he met.

I miss him so much. I miss the naps we use to take together. He was my ultimate sleeping buddy. He would always be ready for a nap or when we went to bed, he slept next to me. I would call him up or when he couldn't jump anymore, carry him on the bed. He would lay close and snuggle against me. Or he would scare me at night because he would sleep with his head on my pillow sometimes,I would wake up and see this big black nose in my face. I really loved when he slept so close. The house feels so empty without him now. It was once filled with the sounds of him barking at the dogs that walked by, or him howling at one of his favorite songs or even the sounds of his chains clanking together as he walked into a room or ate his food, sometimes I still think I hear him. He was always there to greet us at the door. He always made sure before he ate his breakfast that we had to say good morning and give him a kiss. His curved Scottie tail on his back wagging back and forth and the big brown eyes looking at you in anticipation.

Now the house is empty, the bowls are cleared away; the naps are not the same. We lost him to cancer that was in his body and whisked him away so fast, we hardly had time to think. He died peacefully on his own but I can't help to think why did he have to go so soon. I would just like one more day with him or even a minute just to say a proper goodbye. Just to tell him one more time I love you and give him a kiss. I think of him everyday. We love him and miss him so much. I just hope he is ok now and maybe he will come to visit, even if it is in my dreams.
