Spock was a bright, happy, loving companion. He followed me around. He loved to chew his bed. He also chewed up toys. He knew a tonne of tricks and knew to sit to get food. He loved looking outside and loved roaming the neighborhood. We had to curtail that favorite past time as he developed Epilepsy by the time he was three. And we could not let him out too much. After battling it for over a year, as his seizures got worse, we decided to put him down after he had three grand maul seizures in a week and the meds (two different kinds) were not working!
He loved other animals and used to watch tv. He whined so loudly one early morning. I let him out and he went crazy, trying to get my attention at 5 am!!! He kept pointing in the direction of the bush at the end of the cliff behind my house and then I saw what he had seen. A deer was flailing helplessly in the bush. It had hurt itself. Spock saw it and wanted to get it help. He stayed by the french doors, keeping an eye out for the deer and cried for a few hours when the Sheriffs came by and had to euthanize the deer as it was too injured to save.
Spock, I know you will be happy in your heaven. There are no seizures there. I know you will be happy with all the other dogs. Know that we still love you and hold you dear in our hearts and MISS YOU soooo sooo much!
Love always.
