Nickname: Pumpkin, Sweetheart, Mama's Boy

Oliver - An addition to my househould the summer of 2009. After finding him on Craigslist, I knew he would be the perfect companion for me and my 6 year old Chihuahua Bandit. All of us bonded almost instantly!

Oliver was by the far the most affectionate, charismatic boy I will ever have. He definitely marched to his own drum; it made him that much more special. I miss his goofy run around the house, his entire body shaking out of excitment of hearing his leash & collar jingling for a walk, his wimper when he was not getting enough attention, his bad breath, and most of all I will miss him cuddling underneath my arm every night at bedtime

I have never lost a pet to tragic circumstances as this. It is hard not to blame myself since I, his master was supposed to protect him at all times. Unfortunately the gate in the dowstairs portion of my building was left ajar & there Oliver went. He seized the opportunity to run on the front lawn, as most dogs do. The second I called his name, he knew he was in trouble for running away. Then in a instant he took off running even faster. Gosh, he was so happy! Eventually he ran into the street getting hit by a car speeding in a residential area; it all happened so quickly & sadly right before my eyes.

Despite my baby's fatal internal injuries, I desperately want to believe he hung onto life until the Vet ER could no longer save him. Although there was no movement out of him after he was hit, I could still sense he knew I was there since his eyes remained open & was faintly alert even though his body remained limp in my arms; something I will never forget.

I am eternally grateful for the Vet Personnel doing all they could to save him. It is still hard to believe he is gone, and well, I miss him. Terribly. I miss his energy, his affection, the way he slept (on his back with his legs sticking up), him following me everywhere, begging for food...I miss everything.

Yes, I still have Bandit who is my other baby, but, it is just not the same without my other dog. Something is and always will be missing; my beloved Oliver. My heart is forever broken.
