Nickname: Baby Boy

I was diagnosed with Acute Mylogenous Leukemia and spent 7 months in the hospital. I had
never had a pet and I asked my Doctor if I could get a dog. He told me "IT'S ABOUT TIME" get you a dog. I went to a local pet shop and saw Rocky up front in a cage and I asked the
store owner what kinda dog was he and I wanted him. He was a long hair Chihuahua. Blue and tan and was so little and precious. I fell in love with him immediately and he fell in love with me and my husband. I was very sick during this time and Rocky gave me a reason
to live and get up and care for him. He was such a special little guy and into his 7th year we got really bad news. He was born with wobbler's disease, not common in small breds of dogs, but he did have it. He became paralized in his front legs and the Vet said the only
chance he had was to operate on his neck to relieve the pressure on his neck. After many tears we decided to go forward with the surgery. No one gave up on me when I was so ill and I wasn't giving up on him. He did have a couple good years but we could not find a
doctor that was able to treat Rocky properly and actually the vet we took him to caused his demise. We had to have him put down because of the way they handled. him. My husband and I were devastated. We had lost our "Baby Boy" It took me months just to be able to say his name without crying and today I am having a really hard time because he would have been 10 years old tomorrow....Christams day 2009.
