Our Journey.

It began 20 years ago when we first came to America, my mother had two little Shih Tzu's and l fell in love with them, but l wanted my own little baby! so Yum Yum came into our lives, he was so beautiful, so strong, within a week he was leader of the pack of my mothers little dog's, there was so much love and fun. My husband and l bought our first house here close by so every day l would drop Yum Yum off at my mothers for doggie day care as l went to work, he loved being there. Before l knew it nine years had gone by and they were so wonderful so many adventures, My mother moved away so l couldn't drop Yum Yum off for doggie day care anymore and l didn't want him to be on his own, so after much thought we decided to get him a brother, but l wasn't sure if he would accept a puppy at his age, l was so wrong! he loved Beau from the day we bought him home, a real big brother, they played and slept together, it was wonderful to see, Beau's first year was so happy. On a routine vet's visit they discovered Yum Yum had cancer, it was so devastating, they told me maybe he had six months, l went home and cried so hard, how could l say goodbye to a baby l loved so much, how could l let him go and what about poor Beau. We made the decision that Beau would have to have a baby brother, so our little Yoshi came in to our lives, he was a little ball of endless energy with a beautiful blue eye! Yum Yum lived for another year then we lost him on a warm January morning, it was the saddest time we had ever known, our hearts were broken. Beau and Yoshi bonded so strongly, At age six Beau developed a whole bunch of Auto Immune disorders, skin,ears and Allergies so it was monthly trips to the vets for treatments. In the end it was too much for him, we lost our sweet Beau at age eight. Again our hearts were broken and so was Yoshi's, so for the next four years we became Yoshi's world and he became ours. In his 12 year he started to lose his hearing and his sight and gradually get more confused, losing his way in the house, not recognizing me, So for the last time on a rainy April morning we made our journey to the vet's, he was so tired bless him, he sat so still and calm in my arm's looking at me, and all l saw was love in his eye's. So our journey has gone full circle now, and for the first time in 20 years our home, heart and arms are empty, but it was an extraordinary journey of unconditional love and devotion, my life will never be the same but richer for them having been part of it, l miss them all so much, they were my angels, not a day goes by that l don't wish they were all in my arms and l could kiss their little heads and tell them l love them, and l hope that they are all together at the Rainbow Bridge playing eating and snoozing in the sun and waiting for the day that we are all together again, until then......
