My whole world. My cuddle buddy. My digging friend. I miss you.

Nickname: Samson, Sammy, Sam-man, Sammy Sosa, Sam

Samson wasn't a dog. He was my baby.

Samson was a present. He was meant to help me heal from losing my cat of 10 years. And after an initial month of crying in the kennel and accidents on the floor, we settled into an easy routine.

Samson was going to work as a therapy dog. He had just completed his C.G.C. The certificate now sits alone...just like me.

Samson was going to work with children. He brought smiles to their faces each time we went to the park together. He would have been the best therapy dog in the world.

Samson loved to run up the ramp to my bed and dive under the covers. He thought I couldn't see him if he slid far underneath. He always seemed surprised when I lifted the covers from him as if to say, "You found me again! How do you do that?"

Samson sat in my lap each morning as we ate breakfast. He would lick the water off my ankles when I got out of the shower. He would nibble on my ears when I got home from work.

Samson loved to chase a tennis ball. He was so fast that catching him was impossible. But he loved it when you tried nonetheless.

Samson is my world. I am lost without him. I don't know how to wake up in the morning or go to sleep at night. How do you continue to breathe when your whole world is gone?
