We adopted Aurora from the MSPCA in March of 2004. She stole my heart from the first visit. She was a white as the driven snow. When she wagged her tail her whole body shook. She had a torn ACL, but we wanted her anyway. She came home and it was like she had always been there. She loved our cats, and specially loved the neighborhod little kids. She made an imprint on everyone's heart in the neighborhood. We had her leg fixed in July, and I spent the first week, sleeping on th floor with her her. She would always put her paw on my arm, to reassure her I was beside her. She rehabed very well and was as good as new by the end of the summer. Aurora went everywhere with my husband on the week-ends. The following year we had to have her other knee done. She came through that with flying colors. In the Fall of 2009 she was diagnosed with a heart conditon, and was put on various meds to help her, but by June of 2010 it was evident that they were no longer working and she could not function with any quality of life. I miss her so much and dream of her a lot. We have her ashes at home. I am crying now as I write this, and there is a void in my heart that will always be there.
