Nickname: Pooper, Scoobs, Scooby T. Pooper

On Sunday, March 8th, 2009, Scooby went to be with his good pal, Jesus (they go way back), in a land far beyond as a result of natural causes. He passed peacefully in his mommas arms, and in doing so he left us close to nine years of laughter and joyful memories. He was always a friend to everyone, and like his brother, left an impression in our hearts that can never be replaced.

He was born on May 3rd, 2000, and was brought into our family approximately 9 weeks later. Immediately, his territory and presence was made apparent. He won the love and affection of everyone (EVEN other dogs) that he came in contact with. His passive and stoner-like demeanor made him easily memorable to everyone he met, and his zest for life (and double cheeseburgers from McDonald's) ensured no one could meet him and not love him. His way of showing his momma that he didn't want her to leave was by laying on her purse as she prepared to go to work. He loved going for long walks, even when his little brother (who was actually the BIG brother) couldn't keep up. He remained relatively healthy throughout his life, with the exception of a major surgery performed in 2005 to repair a ruptured disc in his back. He was a major flirt (he loved his Dr. Carly so much and in ways apparent I can not divulge on here) who loved the female canine variety almost as much as he loved the human variety.

He is missed greatly, but we are comforted by the knowledge that he is now beyond us and once again by his big brothers (Gizmo Ortiz) side. Two years have gone and passed, but his memory is kept alive daily by all members of his immediate family.

Pooper is survived by his loving parents, Abel & Renee Ortiz (Rivera), paternal grandparents, Uvaldo & Luisa Ortiz, maternal grandparents, Hector & Lilia Ana Rivera, uncle Hector Rivera, Jr, aunt Zoe Rivera, and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was buried.
