Tyler, missing you every minute of every day - Remember everybody loved you!

Nickname: Ty; Tyler-boy; Tybo

Tyler was brought to a shelter when he was just 8 weeks old. We chose him because he was sick and needed special care – most people passed him by because of that & also because he had black markings on his tongue. He was the ‘friendliest” of the litter. Little did we know then that also meant he would be the most rambunctious!

As he got older and mellowed he became the most loyal, happy; loving dog I have ever had the pleasure to be with.

In summer of 2009- we found an abandoned kitten on a baseball field, Well, Tyler was not very fond of cats! It took some time, but eventually he grew to love this little kitten and protect her - He was a great big brother to Lily-Cat. (I am taking good care of her for you Ty).

Sadly, later on that year Tyler developed cancer. After some very difficult medical procedures, he was doing very well, despite this illness and continued to swim, play, go for walks, and loved going for rides in the car....He especially loved going to the vet's office!Tyler continued to love treats and would "do the rounds" everyday to all that entered his home!

In the last week of April - Tyler's cancer started to spread. He put up a good fight! When the vet told us he would have to be euthanized our world fell apart. The last couple of days of his life were met with impossible decision making for us. So again, in his Tyler fashion - to make everyone happy - our poor little guy went into respiratory failure - leaving us no choice - even in death, he was there to guide us. He was brave till the end. So on a very cloudy, sad day we held him and watched him go to the next chapter of his life - and as we stood there holding him - for one brief moment the sun came shining through the window - in that moment we believe this brave little soul let us know he was okay.

I wish you could see all the beautiful cards that were sent to us in your memory and to honor your life! When you were just a pup I used to sing a song to you called "Everybody Loves Tyler" & no truer words were ever sung! Everyone that met you fell in love with you - even those that were a bit nervous being around dogs, especially dogs your size - within minutes of being around you - and feeling your gentleness they too fell in love. I hope you will always remember the many, many trips to the beach, the parks, all the errands we took you on! Life is just not the same without you - but for all the pain I feel now - I thank God for the experience of raising you & for the happiness you brought to my life. We had so many happy times together! I am happy you got to have chicken mcnuggets in your final days & the delicious ham & turkey your buddy's friend N sent over! You got to spend Easter with your family, your auntie b & your cousins T & M, who loved you so much.

Tyler, we all miss you terribly and I would like to take this opportunity to say what an honor it was, my little guy, to be your Mommy! Your "Buddy" misses you and thinks of you ALL the time - He says you made him a better person! Your step-poppy C enjoyed all those swims in the bay with you and saved all the rocks you brought back together - he even spelled out your name in the back-yard with them! Your godparents L & G miss seeing us walking at nite on their way home from work - your auntie R misses sending you vanilla stix - she knows how much you loved them - grandma and Lily miss you - I hope you know how many people loved you - your human friends, family members, & all your furry friends....especially HB! I know when you crossed over the Rainbow Bridge you saw Lamb-Chop & Tapsy & Trixie - and dont worry when we all meet again I still won't let Uncle M pull your hair! I will always protect you - You will be forever in our hearts and we will never, ever forget you - thank you for the joy you brought into our lives & for teaching me the true meaning of unconditional love - We know you are in a place now where there is no cancer and no pain - & lots & lots of treats and a beautiful ocean for you to swim in - so swim on my sweet precious puppy until we all meet again!
