Nickname: Dew Bug

On New Years Day of 2012, we were visiting our mother in law out of town and our two babies, Dewey and Zowie got loose following my husband outside. Our female got a scent and took off with her brother following her. Within an hour they were both hit by a car and killed. My husband, children and I are heart broken. The guilt, anger and sadness have been so overwhelming to us. I've lost dogs due to old age, but this has been just unbearable. Dew and Zo went from one minute sitting on my lap on the couch, to being gone.

Dewey was a baby. He had the most beautiful big brown eyes and long eyelashes. He was the protector. He never left his sister's side and it ended up killing him in the end. She ran off and he was not going to let her go alone. That dog when was alone would never leave our side but if his sister was around and she took off he always went with her.

Dewey was the oldest and he was a Mama's boy. When I went to pick him up from the breeder, he walked outside, walked over and jumped into our back seat and lay down. He looked up at me, as if to say "hey, been waiting for ya, let's go home." I fell in love with him immediately. He was a beautiful dog and spoiled beyond belief.

He was my barker and drove all of our neighbors nuts constantly barking. I think if he could talk he would have. If I was sick or sad, he would lay by me and never left until I got up or felt better. Dewey was a piggy and loved to be fed treats. His nickname was fat boy which seems mean but he just loved to eat. I would make him eggs and bacon on the weekends and he would just go nuts.

I cannot believe he is gone.....I miss him everyday and I can barely stand to get through the day without him and his sister. It is so painful and so unfair that they are both gone. Especially Dewey because he only ran to be by Zo. He would still be here. My baby boy, I love you so much. Never ever forget that.

My heart aches for my babies, I miss them sooooo much. I would give anything to see them and hold them again. Just to feel them and have them in my lap. Our family loved them so much and I cannot believe they are gone. I hope wherever they are they are together, cuddled by each other and they know that I love them with all my heart and someday we will be together again. Please wait for us and I will spend eternity petting you and feeding you bacon. I miss you and love you so much. Mom xoxoxoxox
