Zowie....we love you so much baby and miss you.

On New Years Day of 2012, we were visiting our mother in law out of town and our two babies, Dewey and Zowie got loose following my husband outside. Our female got a scent and took off with her brother following her. Within an hour they were both hit by a car and killed. My husband, children and I are heart broken. The guilt, anger and sadness have been so overwhelming to us. I've lost dogs due to old age, but this has been just unbearable. Dew and Zo went from one minute sitting on my lap on the couch, to being gone.

Dew and Zo were like little people. They were so loving and had such cool personalities. Zo was the dominate one, although the female. She was constantly on the hunt for rabbits and loved running around our back yard chasing rabbits or barking at birds. She was so tiny but so mighty. She was not afraid of anything. If she wanted to be petted, she told you, climbing on your lap and scratching your face with her paw until you gave in and pet her.

Zowie was like a cat, she had her share of near misses over the years. We've taken her to the Emergency Vet on more than one occassion. I think even this last time, I kept thinking we would find her and bring her home. She loved to run off which was so frustrating for our whole family but it was just part of her personality. She was always on the prowl for rabbits. We always got her back, though. Always!!!!

She loved having her bacon with daddy on Sundays, riding in the car, chasing rabbits and playing with her big brother Dewey. They were always together and if we took one to the vet, or separated them for any reason which was rare, the other would cry until they came back. She would growl and fight with him but when she was ready to lay down at the end of the day she was always cuddled by Dewey.

She had a very special relationship with my husband. He was "hers" and they were always cuddling. My husband loved both dogs equally but he and Zo had a special relationship. She slept on his pillow when he was at work.

My heart aches for my babies, I miss them sooooo much. I would give anything to see them and hold them again. Just to feel them and have them in my lap. Our family loved them so much and I cannot believe they are gone. I hope wherever they are they are together, cuddled by each other and they know that I love them with all my heart and someday we will be together again. Please wait for us and I will spend eternity petting you and feeding you bacon. I miss you and love you so much. Mom xoxoxoxox
