Nickname: Haley bear

On Saturday, November 24th, our sweet Haley passed away in our arms. She had a spinal disease that progresses very fast.

Haley was the beginning of our family. We wanted a girl Beagle and she was the last girl in the litter. She was big-boned with a crooked tail, and we just had to have her.

Haley had to greet us every day after work before she would go outside. She would come romping towards us, her whole body was excited. She wasn't satisfied until she could see both of us.

She loved bedtime. She would paw at our arms until we would let her under the covers. I would complain every time, but I miss it dearly. In the morning she would stay sleeping under the covers while we got ready. She loved sleeping and snored loudly.

She was very patient with her crazy sister Molly. Molly loved cuddling with her big sister. They loved to play and no matter how hard we tried to get them to play outside they would always come running inside to play. Outside was for napping and sunbathing.

Just like her mommy, she had an irrational fear of everything. From toothbrushes to the vacuum cleaner cord that she refused to step over.

She loved going on walks. Every time we said the word 'walk' she got so excited. Even in her final hours she still perked up a little at the sound of this word. She wanted so badly to go on a walk again.

We miss her little T-Rex arms and her big puppy head. She brought so much happiness and love to our life.

There's something missing in my home,
I feel it every night.
I know it will take time and strength,
Before things feel quite right.

But just for now, I need to mourn,
My heart - it needs to mend.
Though some may say "It's just a pet,"
I know I've lost a friend.

You've brought such laughter to my home,
And richness to my days...
A constant friend through joy or loss,
With gentle loving ways.

Companion, pal, and confidant,
A friend I won't forget...
