Nickname: Tasha Lou, Stosh

Tasha was the perkiest and most optimistic old dog I've ever seen. She would still speak for treats, sit pretty, and pace anxiously for drops of food at dinner time long after she went deaf and the cataracts took over, full of energy and tail wagging all the while. It made it so hard to have her put to sleep. She had so much spunk left in her spirit but the old body couldn't contain it any longer. The cancer went into her lungs and nasal cavity causing breathing difficulty. I knew the laborous breathing and wheezing was taunting her and that the end was inevitable. We had many good years together however. She was my bedside companion, the house watch dog, and patient confidante. She shared walks to the party store, camping trips and visits to Yukon, her male neighbor "friend". Early on she was forced into "adopting" two young children that she never bargained for but loved them unconditionally. She willingly modeled barretts and bows, party hats and sunglasses for any child needing to see what she would look like with human "decorations". She loved life and we loved her. Thank you for 16 wonderful years Tasha!
