My baby girl Sadie was born in San Antonio, Texas. Sadie's mom was a black and white border collie, and her Dad was a gorgeous loving Block Head Lab. Mom and Dad were homeless and living in park in San Antonio, TX. A couple was walking their Irish Setter in the park when the Dad approach the couple and bark and turned several times - trying to get their attention to follow him. Dad lead this couple to the Mom with 9 puppies nursing. Needless to say the couple wanted to help the family of fur babies and took the entire family to their home. This couple spent a lot of money getting the pups checked out and the Mom and Dad, and it turns out the puppies and Mom had mites. The couple sent an email to multiple people with the story and sent pictures of the entire family. I happen to be the lucky lady to get the puppy, the runt of the litter ---I've never owned a Dog, and was very inexperienced to say the least -- At 6 weeks old I got my little pistol of a dog and began the journey of learning how to raise a pup--- Not sure I did it right but I loved to spoil Sadie. Sadie turned out to be a bit of Marley and did get into a lot of precarious and unusual situations: digging around the perimeter of the yard to visit all the neighbor dogs, inviting the neighbor dogs to come visit, eating up the base boards in the windows, tearing her doggie bed to shreds, not wanting to leave the dog park - and following her older sister and would to go home. Getting kicked out of the Petsmart doggie training for puppies - not once but twice - and me conceding that this is going to have to be a collaborative relationship - It was a mother daughter relationship for many years - and I did not mind - she was my companion.
Sadie was a loyal loving beautiful girl who loved ALL people, kids --She taught me patience and conceding when it didn't matter --- actually I loved that she had such a BIG personality, but always wanted to be with her Mama. Sadie my lovebug wanted so much to live but her little body just could not keep up with her BIG SPIRIT and HEART. Making the decision to have her go to Doggie Heaven broke me like I have never been in my life - but knew in the end that she was aware and still loved me before she left and licked my face. I will always love my love bug and will be forever grateful for the events that unfolded for me to get this beautiful sweet girl in my life!
I hope there are signs for me to know that she is running with the other pups in Doggie Heaven.
I am so thankful that there is a site where I can pay tribute to my sweet girl - Sadie -
Thanks
