On the 28th day of May 2009, we lost our little girl Zoey. She was going in to have surgery to fix her right knee,on that very day. Her knee cap was out of place & was starting to hurt her a lot. Zoeys surgery was to start around 1PM , well around 1:30pm on 5/28/09, our little girl died while they were just starting to put the gas mask in front of her little nose. Well that's when her tiny heart stop. Zoey was every thing to my husband & myself and when we got that phone call, well that was the worst call ever in our lives.
The vet. says it was a freak accident & yes we did trust him b/c 1yr. before he had worked on her left knee. So really didn't think any thing was going to happen. This Vet. is the one who had found that she had been born w/ both knees out of place at the age of 8 months. He told Us he did everything possible, but it was her time to go. To add too the surgery, she died before the IV could be started.
Our baby was everything to us, we couldn't have children so went the 4 legged way. Zoey could put the biggest smile on your face just by looking at her. We loved everything about her, she loved us so much you could just see the love in her eyes. She will be greatly missed & never forgotten.
We love poodles & right before we had gotten Zoey 2yrs ago, we had another tiny poodle --Buffy Mae. Buffy was our 1st child, we had her for almost 10yrs.but on 04/23/07, she died of congestive heart failure. Buffy was really to tell you the truth , was our world--she could do no wrong. (I'll be making a memorial for Buffy soon.)
Both girls were so dear to us, they both have a special place in our heart, body, & soul. We loved our tiny girls so much.
To any one out there, if you are needing to bring your love one to have surgery---ask a lot of questions b/c trust us --it hurts more to lose one to an unexpected death than one that's expected. I guess I could write on & on but all I have on mind is the surgery & the way we lost our baby in a couple of seconds. I'll never forget our last look in each other eyes--I just never thought that - that look would be our last. The pain hurts so bad & the crying never stops b/c I lost my best friends in the world (My Babies Zoey & Buffy).
So please rem. things do go wrong for our little ones also & when you do let them out of your sight---always rem. -----IT MAY BE THE LAST.
